cheers – day 365/365
Cheers. I finally did it. I finished this thing. Yes, It took more than 365 days, but there are at least 365 photos posted. These photos represent the best times of the last year-ish. This year, I traveled, I laughed, I remembered, I celebrated, and I loved. I am so thankful to have a year in photos to look back on.
Since I wasn’t so good at a photo a day, I might try something different in 2012. Maybe a series of photos a week – so a project 52 if you will. I have so much more to learn with my photography, and I want to continue to share.
Thank you for encouraging this project and reminding me not to quit – I’m looking at you Christie. :) Hope you enjoyed the ride – I sure did.
Cheers.
welcome to the grindhouse – day 364/365
I turned 30 this year, and to celebrate – my brother and mom took me to the Grizzlies vs. Thunder game at the FedExForum, aka the Grindhouse. Last summer, the Grizzlies had an amazing record-setting season, and I am so pumped about this year. It was a fantastic way to celebrate a new decade. Here’s to 30.
sears crosstown – day 361/365
The Sears Crosstown Building on Cleveland is one of Memphis’ iconic landmarks. It has been abandoned since the 90′s, until recently. There is a group of innovative folks that have taken over the building and are turning it into a mecca for artists – Crosstown Arts. This fall, Katie and I actually go inside the building, some thing few have been able to do. It was so neat to actually go inside and feel the building’s history and get excited about its future.
Katie wrote a great post on her blog about it – Read it.
film time – day 360/365
This year, I volunteered with the 14th Annual Indie Memphis Film Festival by coordinating their social media. Such a fun, yet tiring weekend. On the upside – I did get to meet Chris Parnell. It took all I had to not tell him that I agree that Red Vines and Dr. Pepper are crazy delicious.
the good stuff – day 359/365
For the first year, Katie and I actually had trick-or-treaters for Halloween. I was in charge of getting the candy, and I didn’t want to get a reputation for giving out bad candy – so I got the good stuff. Unfortunately, we didn’t have as many kids come by as we had hoped. We think we might need to add some lights next year.
paul simon and memphis – day 358/365
This year, I renamed October – Rocktober. It wasn’t record setting, but close – I saw four shows this fall, and two in just one weekend. I ended Rocktober with Paul Simon. It was a stunning show, and I will admit that a tear ran down my cheek when he sang the Sounds of Silence. The Mud Island Amphitheater was a perfect backdrop for an outstanding show.
